WHY BIZ50STARTUP EXISTS
The day before Blair was shot in October 2015, he was sent home from work. He spent that day doing homework for his Business Management degree, working on his online clothing brand relaunch, and watching his newborn daughter. When his child's mother returned home and got settled, he stepped out to the store for a simple errand.
Upon returning, he was shot. That was the day his life changed forever.
After recovering, Blair needed income. So he started driving for Uber. But something magical happened during those 10,282 trips. Every few rides, someone would connect with him — real energy, real vibes. And Blair would somehow always bring up business and being shot. He wasn't just driving people to their destinations. He was teaching them that life can be hard, but you have to keep going.
"I'm building a business and I love teaching it," he would tell passengers. "I'm no professional, but I've been involved with business people since I was 13, so I know the basics and the important foundational steps to create a sustainable and successful business."
Those 10,282 rides weren't just survival income. They were his practice runs. Every conversation was preparation for what he's doing now — helping overlooked entrepreneurs build something real. Uber riders kept asking why he hadn't shared his story more widely. He used those rides as his classroom, and now he's ready to scale that teaching.
Through those thousands of conversations, Blair heard the same struggles over and over: confusing legal requirements, hidden costs, no clear roadmap for formation, and feeling overlooked by "startup culture." So he built the platform he wished he had: Business formation guidance for all 50 states. Step-by-step compliance tracking. Document management and templates.
